This program is administered by the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development. The Hazard Impact Assessment program in Alaska is part of the Alaska Climate Change Impact Mitigation program. This program provides grant funding for communities to complete hazard impact reports. Program is for communities in Alaska that have demonstrated life/safety risk during storm and flood events, loss of critical infrastructure, public health threats or loss of 10% of residential dwellings related to flooding, erosion, melting permafrost or other climate change related phenomena. Communities must first complete a Hazard Impact Assessment before being granted a Community Planning Grant. Between $10,000 and $50,000 grants.
